This workshop includes ample time for hands-on practice and Q&A to allow participants to practice their new skills at their own pace and ask questions so that they are ready to start using Trados Studio efficiently right away.
• Learn the basic concepts of Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools.
• Learn how to use the basic functions and settings of Trados Studio.
• Learn how to upgrade/import translation memories for use with Trados Studio.
• Learn how to use glossaries and machine translation with Trados Studio.
• Discover how to make the most of this software and put it to good use.
• Hear about common practice regarding the translator-Trados-client relationship, including “Trados rates.”
• …in other words: To get you up and translating with Trados Studio, and to feel good about it!
Workshop attendees must bring their own laptop for the training with an installed demo or licensed version of SDL Trados Studio. If you are having problems installing the software, please contact Tuomas Kostiainen at email@example.com before the training day.
Note about versions: Even though this is primarily a Trados Studio 2015 workshop, most of the presented information also applies to the earlier Studio versions. However, since a free Studio 2015 trial version is available for all first-time Studio 2015 users from http://www.translationzone.com/products/sdl-trados-studio/free-trial.html, it's recommended to have this latest version installed.
Workshop participants who subsequently purchase the Studio 2015 software license can enjoy a 30% discount, courtesy of SDL and valid until the end of November. If interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for the discount code.
Tuomas Kostiainen is a Trados trainer and a freelance English to Finnish translator with extensive experience in using Trados Studio. He has given many Trados workshops for NCTA and other translator organizations and has trained hundreds of translators and project managers around the world.

Early payment is advised in order to secure participation and help reach the workshop minimum participation. Unfortunately, workshops may occasionally have to be cancelled or rescheduled if the confirmed participation in advance is very low. NCTA will not be responsible for any consequential losses to participants arising from this.
Cancellation policy: Refunds are issued only if notice of cancellation is received one week prior to the applicable workshop date. A cancellation fee of $10 is charged for all cancellations.
